JANSKY (ES)

Insecta Dance Music is an art-science project highlighting the importance of the entomologic fauna, not only from an environmental perspective, but also as part of our sound heritage and a valuable asset in contemporary music.The album has been composed with insect sounds, recorded in natural and semiurban areas of Mallorca. The sounds have been digitalized and manipulated to become rhythms, vocalizations and textures, which the duo has uploaded into their instruments (drum machines, pads, synths) and played to create tracks ranging from Balearic and experimental electronic music to techno. Finally, they’ve inlcuded a Mediterranean jazz flute and vocals describing the relationship humankind/nature, and using techniques that emulate the language of insects.
