KONGSHAUG / JANSSON DUO (SE)

Kongshaug/Jansson Duo (SE) is a Swedish folk/jazz duo consisting of vocalist Isabelle Kongshaug and guitarist Jonas Jansson. They have been playing together since 2016 and have developed a personal sound where jazz and improvisation are intertwined with folk music in their own compositions.

Isabelle Kongshaug is a vocalist and composer with a background in jazz and improvisational music. After music university studies in Sweden and Norway she released her debut EP in 2019 with the jazz band The Swede & The Sweet Swingers. She’s a member of the free improv vocal ensemble Vok Ens who debuted in 2021 with the full length album Vok I, followed by their second album Sentient (2023) in collaboration with electronic musician John Derek Bishop. She has performed on stages and festivals throughout Scandinavia with different projects.

Jonas Jansson is a guitarist and composer playing Swedish, Irish, and self-written folk music. Besides being a music teacher he is active as a musician and has released music with folk music groups such as Fredagsduon and Trio Fri. The last few years he has developed and performed a musical/theatrical solo project called ”Ticstrafik, folkmusik & gitarrtragik”.
