PUDER (DE)

Puder aka Catharina Boutari is a German / Egyptian singer and performer based in Hamburg. Puder does independent popmusic with jazz and electro sprinkels. Unexpected, danceable with a strong organic vibe. For her new record ’Aha. Ok. Let’s Surf the Planet.’, which will be released during Future Echoes 24, she invited the three European musicians Jorge da Rocha (PRT/ES), Élénie Wagner (NL) and St.James Park (PRT), whom she met at the artist residency at Westway Lab Showcase Festival (PRT) in 22, for her writing and recording session called ‘The Puder Session Tapes’. The accompagnying liverecording took place at Future Echoes 23. Now she returns with her guests for the premiere to show us a dreamier side of her music and screen the related documentary.

In the past Puder collaborated with international musicians as Jules Maxwell from Dead can Dance, filmcomposer Riad Abdel-Nabi or Iranian singer and activist Faravaz and played at Reeperbahn Festival, Westway Lab Festival, Fusion Festival and Attention Festival. Puder runs her own feminist label ’Pussy Empire Recordings’ where she releases fine fe*male music.
