Jack in Water (William Clapson) is a British artist living in Mallorca known for his melancholic and alternative music where he explores various themes such as masculinity and mental health. Having released three EP’s in recent years, he has just released his debut album titled ”You Don’t Feel Like Home”, where he openly examines his own childhood and the process that comes with accepting and understanding this sometimes complicated developmental stage. Trauma, repression, difficult family relationships or alcohol abuse are some of the complex aspects that this body of work addresses in contrast with the freshness provided by the tender ballad dedicated to his best friend and previous collaborator Oliver Chapman in ’Unconditional Love’. The mix of live and electronic instruments absorbs influences from both William’s childhood favourites and the musical baggage accumulated over the last eight years and present on his acclaimed EPs that combine organic piano tracks recorded in a church with folk and the heavier electronics found on his latest EP ’Presence’ released early last year. ”You Don’t Feel Like Home” is his most vulnerable and musically ambitious project yet.
