Pillow Fite (CA)

Pillow Fite (CA) is Halifax, Nova Scotia’s most exciting new musical duo. Pairing tender, heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics with catchy alt-rock instrumentals and folky ballads, the genre lines get blurred in a way that keeps the project dynamic and binge-worthy while giving listeners all of the feels. As a trans non-binary fronted band, Pillow Fite strive to represent queer experiences both on and off stage, and work hard to perform in safe and inclusive spaces.

Drawing on the influence and emotional heft of songwriters such as Sharon Van Etten, Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Tegan and Sara, Pillow Fite’s debut record solidifies a fusion of a diverse array of experiences, genres, and ideas. Flutter is an album that is as deeply heartfelt as it is catchy against all odds. The Halifax duo collaborated with John Mullane (In-Flight Safety, Loviet, POSTFUN) to create a project that is intimate, and full of tender moments.

The duo recently showcased at Reeperbahn’s Canada House in Hamburg and Amazing Grace in London, England. The band has also showcased at Nova Scotia Music Week and is currently working in the studio for the winter to complete their next two singles and EP, due out via Laughing Heart Music in early Spring 2023.
