GUNNAR GESSNER (DE)
Gunnar Geßner (DE), studied history and sociology in Hannover, loves projects and events: small conference or big festival, genre-bending club nights or teens making art at weird places, fair booth, live gig or complex concept. Many ideas, many productions (and many e-mails) around popular music and jazz passed his desk since 2004. This desk stood for years in his own office, then whilst a four year stint at music mediation specialists Musikland Niedersachsen and now at the music support organisation MusikZentrum Hannover. He’s on the boards of Klubnetz and LiveKomm, both networks for venues and festivals on a state and a federal level, on the advisory board of UNESCO City of Music Hannover and represents the Deutsche Jazzunion at the specialist committee Europe and international matters of the German Cultural Council.
His role at the MusikZentrum is project development and management. A longterm project is to develop the German Centre of Music Technology in Hannover, but the main focus is to work with professional musicians and strengthen their networks and working conditions. That’s why a co-working space called RAMPE was founded in 2020.
