DISCOVER SENSATION CREATES A COMPLETELY NEW PLATFORM FOR EMERGING TALENT – IN AN EXPERIENCED HOST CITY
On 16-18 September 2021, the showcase festival Future Echoes will make its debut in Norrköping – the Nordic region’s only official music city in the global network UNESCO Creative Cities. An innovative initiative to support the recovery after COVID19 by bringing together the music industry, talent development and music cities.
Future Echoes will be a creative and sustainable meeting place for the national and international music scene at the same time, the organizer Discover Sensation will create a path into Sweden for the music community abroad. ”In the past, we have worked with traditional showcase festivals. Now the goal is to create something new based on the current conditions the industry is faced with. We gather our large network to strengthen and build together during the recovery. All in an effort to turn the negative crisis into a positive opportunity and to think new”, says Peter Åstedt from Discover Sensation
Even though Future Echoes is a new international showcase festival, the crew around it has been doing the biggest showcases in Sweden over the last fifteen years.
Our first edition will have 100 acts performing on 15 stages around the area called “Industry City” in Norrköping. The venues are very close to each other allowing the industry delegates to see as many artists as possible. The festival will also have a two day conference program on Friday and Saturday. Our main goal this year is to be the meeting point for the new industry that is evolving after the Covid 19 situation. Our applications will be open to the end of June. Future Echoes will start book acts and speakers from the beginning of December of 2020.
