LIGHTCRAFT (ID)

Anthemic contemporary pop band lightcraft have made it their main mission to shine a light of hope on the world through every note and melody that they produce. Melding together lyrics brimming with hopefulness and positivity, the Jakarta-based
Indonesian quartet have a unique arena-ready sound that is at once uplifting and melancholic, able to tug at heartstrings and incite a wide-eyed smile in an instant.
lightcraft first got together in 2005 when original members Imam Surataruna, Fari Febrian, and Enrico Prabowo met while studying at the same university in Selangor, Malaysia. After forging a fine reputation in the country through their energetic
performances and acclaimed releases – local music magazine ROTTW dubbed them the “South-East Asian Coldplay” at the time – the band relocated to their hometown Jakarta in 2011. Drummer Yopi Santosa joined in 2012.
Taking on themes surrounding humanity and various global phenomena seen through rose-tinted glasses, lightcraft have several releases under their belt, including debut EP “The Modern Seasons” (2006), debut album “Losing NorthernLights” (2008), sophomore album “Colours of Joy” (2014), second EP “Another Life” (2016), and third full album “Us Is All” (2019).
In September 2020, in the year of their fifteenth anniversary together as a band, lightcraft initiated a change in musical direction with the release of their single “Run Away”, a collaborative track with Singaporean producer DSML inspired by
electronic-tinged music from the 1980s and modern pop. An acoustic version of the song followed in February 2021, both released under US-based label group Circulate Music.
By June 2021, lightcraft made another breakthrough with their single “Life”, which brought about a fresh and innovative sound. In September 2021, they joined forces with renowned singer/songwriter and producer Petra Sihombing, who produced
their single “Don’t Fight This Feeling”, which further pushed their musical boundaries. To wrap up the year, lightcraft released their third single of the year “Dream Dancer” in early December 2021.
To mark their 17th anniversary, lightcraft are set to usher in a new era in 2022, starting with the single “Feathers”. The fourth single to be taken from their fourth full album “Hope + Love”, “Feathers” features talented Indonesian rapper Pretty Rico and showcases the sound of a band that has rediscovered their mojo and going full steam ahead with their new musical direction.
On May 27, 2022, lightcraft came out with “Forever”, the fifth single from “Hope + Love”. A love song that celebrates one’s emotions towards her/his other half, “Forever” pushes the band’s envelope even further than ever, highlighting their ability to evolve from one song to the other.
The band’s fourth full album “Hope + Love” was finally released on July 15, 2022. Consisting of twelve emotionally driven, cinematic, and stirring songs each carryinga message about hopefulness and love, it features all five previously released
singles along with six brand-new tracks, including “Carry Your Heart” featuring phenomenal Singaporean producer DSML and the Natasha Udu-featuring closer “This Day & Age”. The album signals the beginning of a new era for lightcraft as
they attempt to break new grounds; an evolution that elevates the band to a whole new level.
